World Language
While no world language credit is required for graduation from high school, a minimum of two years of study in one world language is recommended to meet most college application requirements and a third unit or more is suggested.

AP Spanish Language and Culture is equivalent to an intermediate level college course in Spanish. Students cultivate their understanding of Spanish language and culture by applying interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational modes of communication in real-life situations as they explore concepts related to family and communitites, personal and public identities, beauty and aesthetics, science and technology, contemporary life, and global challenges.
CSCC SPAN 1101 BEGINNING SPANISH I
Prerequisite: Acceptance into Columbus State Community College SPANISH I, SPANISH 2, HONORS SPANISH 3

A college level course with a high school instructor that introduces students to the fundamentals of the Spanish language with practice in listening, reading, speaking and writing. Course includes selected studies in Hispanic culture. SPAN 1101 meets elective requirements in the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science Degree programs and transfer requirements in foreign languages and literature. Note: Students choosing to drop AP, Honors, and/or CSCC classes must do so by the students' last day of school of the school year in which they registered.
